Worn-out dull chainsaw chain showing rounded teeth

Why Pros Burn Through Chains

  • A single hardwood removal can dull a chain past usable sharpening
  • Dealer OEM replacement runs $25–35 per chain — that's $100+ a week for active arborists
  • You need a backup chain in the truck, not a 2-day wait from a dealer

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these compatible with my Stihl® saw?
Our chains match the Stihl® OEM specifications for pitch (3/8" LP or 3/8"), gauge (.050"), and drive link count for the models listed. They install on the same bar and run on the same sprocket as your factory chain. Check the bar stamp on your saw to confirm pitch, gauge, and DL count before ordering.
How does the quality compare to Stihl® OEM chains?
Our ALBO chains use full-chisel chrome-plated cutters and reinforced rivets — the same construction profile as Stihl® RM/RS series. They cut comparable in hardwood and softwood. The trade-off is brand recognition, not performance. For homeowners and working arborists running through multiple chains per season, the math works.
What does "3/8" LP" mean?
3/8" LP (Low Profile) is the chain pitch — the distance between three consecutive rivets divided by two. It's the most common pitch for small and mid-sized Stihl saws (MS170 through MS251). Models MS261 and up typically also use 3/8" LP, while larger MS362+ use full-size 3/8" or .325". The pitch must match your bar nose sprocket.
Can I sharpen these chains?
Yes. The full-chisel cutter profile can be sharpened with a standard 5/32" (for 3/8" LP) or 7/32" (for 3/8") round file. Most professional arborists rotate three chains and send all three for professional grinding when needed — which is why 3-packs make sense.
How long does shipping take?
Orders before 2pm CT ship same business day from our Delaware warehouse. US delivery is 2–4 business days for most addresses. Express options available at checkout.
Do you offer a contractor discount?
The 3-pack pricing already brings per-chain cost down to $7.33–$11.00 versus $22–$35 for Stihl® OEM. For larger volumes (10+ packs), email info@binaminc.com for bulk pricing.
