Hurricane damage with scattered furniture and broken zip ties

When Standard Ties Fail in a Storm

  • Hurricane gusts easily snap standard 50 lb cable ties — patio furniture becomes a 100+ mph projectile
  • Home Depot heavy-duty 24" packs run $25–35 for just 50 ties — burns through the prep budget fast
  • Big-box stores sell out 48 hours before landfall — you need stock at home, not on a back-ordered shelf

200 lb Tensile. 24"–36" Reach. Storm-Ready.

  • 200 lb tensile strength — holds patio furniture, grills, and A/C condensers through Cat 2+ gusts
  • Long sizes (20", 24", 36") wrap around umbrellas, propane tanks, deck rails, and shed corners
  • UV-resistant black nylon — won't degrade between storms if left in place all season
  • Ships same day from our Delaware warehouse — order Monday, prep Thursday
  • Cheaper per tie than Home Depot heavy-duty equivalents — stockpile without overspending

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast do I get them if a hurricane warning is active?
We ship same business day for orders placed before 2pm CT. Standard delivery to coastal Southeast (FL, GA, SC, NC, AL) is typically 2 business days. If a major storm warning is active, we recommend ordering as soon as the cone shows your area — ideally 4–5 days before projected landfall to allow time for both shipping and prep work.
Will 200 lb tensile really hold patio furniture in hurricane winds?
200 lb tensile means each tie can resist 200 lbs of pull-force before breaking. For most patio furniture (chairs, small tables, grills), three or four 24" ties anchored to a deck post or rail provides resistance well beyond what direct wind force will apply — the failure point in practice is usually the anchor point, not the tie. For very large items (sheds, gazebos), use multiple ties at multiple anchor points and consider professional anchoring straps as well.
Are these UV-resistant for year-round use?
Yes. Our black nylon zip ties contain carbon black for UV resistance — they can be left in place between storms without significant degradation. Most customers in active hurricane zones leave ties in place all season (June–November) and only cut them off in December.
Can I cut them off and reuse the same tie?
Standard zip ties are single-use — once tightened past the locking pawl, they can only be unlocked by cutting. The 200 lb construction means you'll often need diagonal cutters or a small knife. We recommend buying enough for a full prep cycle plus 25% extra for adjustments and post-storm replacement.
What size should I order for which job?
24" 200 lb is the workhorse size for most patio furniture and grills — buy a 100-pack and you'll cover an entire average yard. 36" is for larger circumferences (umbrellas, A/C condensers, deck railings, propane tanks). 20" works for medium objects like chairs and smaller pots. 12" 50 lb covers light tasks like securing flowerpots or pool equipment hoses.
Do you ship to Florida during a hurricane warning?
We ship out of Delaware as long as carriers are operating. During active hurricane warnings, carriers may suspend last-mile delivery in the impact zone — in those cases packages are held and delivered as soon as service resumes (typically 1–3 days post-landfall). For best results, order 4–5 days before projected landfall.
